Visiting the Pilbara

Road tripping in the great

WA Relationship Manager, Shelley Bartels set off with Director of Ministries WA, Karen Siggins along with colleagues from BWAA and BIS to see some churches who are a little off the beaten track.

“It was a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with other Baptist ministries, promote the Baptist Movement, see some churches who don’t often get a visit, and show them some of the ways in which we can offer support”.

Life can be pretty tough for those in ministering in mining towns. People move in, but often do not plan to stay long term – they might be on a short contract, or have family living elsewhere. Nonetheless, the local church welcomes them and focuses on building them up in their faith to send them out well. This makes it tough for those left behind. The locals refer to this as “farewell fatigue”.

BFS is committed to building up and serving churches all around Australia. Get in touch with our team to discuss how we can serve your church with a range of financial products.
