Meet Robert

Robert was born in the UK, but grew up in Sydney after his parents took the bold step of moving their young family to Australia. He has been married to Virginia for 31 years and has two grown up daughters, Julia and Sophie.

Robert grew up attending Sunday School, but fell away as he transitioned to high school. However, the influence of Christian friends at Muirfield High School, the evident power of prayer in his student life, and frequent invitations to youth programs at Carlingford Baptist Church all contributed to his return to church and decision to follow Jesus.

"In many ways I experienced the reality of acceptance and belonging before I believed in Jesus and committed my life to following Him."

These days, Rob attends at Northside Baptist Church with his wife and daughters. He loves the reflective nature of the worship there, and the church-wide effort to address the issue of domestic and family violence – a cause his family is very committed to. In his own time he likes music, reading and cooking for his family. He can also be found hitting the weights, bike and footpaths to stay fit and healthy.

Rob comes to BFS as the next step in an impressive career within Baptist ministries. He has been a pastor as well as having held executive roles within BaptistCare and Baptist Mission Australia.

He is excited to be our National Relationship Manager, and head up our great team of Relationship Managers, “I enjoy opportunities to bring out the potential in people, organisations and wider systems”. Rob loves to see clients and hear about their ministries. He is looking forward to many visits and phone calls with you and your team.
